CHICKENFOOT will perform on the June 5 edition of NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show", helping to kick off the program's first week with new host Conan O'Brien. The appearance comes just days before the June 9 release of CHICKENFOOT's self-titled debut album.
Although many "supergroups" tend to make one or two albums before its members go their separate ways or back to other projects, Satriani told The Pulse of Radio that he thinks CHICKENFOOT will be around for a while. "Well, I hope so, and I have a very good feeling that everybody is feeling the same way, that it's a once-in-a-lifetime connection that you get, and that nobody wants to see it evaporate," he said. "The good thing about being where we are in our careers is that we can pretty much decide what we want to do, and when to do it. But on the same token, nobody wants to disrupt anybody else's trajectory with their other bands or their solo careers."
The first single from CHICKENFOOT's album is called "Oh Yeah".
The vinyl version of the record will feature a bonus cut called "Bitten By The Wolf".
CHICKENFOOT is in the midst of a short North American club tour that brings them to New York and Philadelphia this week. The band will tour more extensively this fall.
